Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act

The recently passed Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act of 2008 is a new law that effects all "toys" and products sold to children under the age of 12. Under the law's guidelines, small bikes (pitbikes) are included in the guidelines. Some consider these items "toys" sold to children under the age of 12. Major motorcycle manufacturers have been forced to sell the small motorcycles for use by children twelve years of age and over. The reasoning is a potential for lead content in some components that may exceed strict lead content limits.

Fast50s is confident that this ban on motorcycles and ATV sales will be reversed in due time. The United States Congress is working with business leaders and supporters of an ammendment to the new law.

The CPSIA defines a children’s product as one designed or intended primarily for twelve years of age or younger, and/or a product that is commonly viewed by consumers as being intended for use by a child twelve years of age or younger.

Fast50s products are intended for adults and riders over the age of 12. Our aftermarket parts are considered uprades in performance, strength, and durability for bigger riders.

Fast50s/FastMinis will continue to supply their U.S. made performance parts to the 4-stroke community for those bigger riders that enjoy the smaller bikes!!
